Vijayawada: TDP politburo member Bonda Umamaheswara Rao on Thursday asked Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as to why he is not initiating action against his party MPs V Vijaya Sai Reddy and M V V Satyanarayana for their alleged involvement in grabbing valuable government lands in Visakhapatnam.

The whole State believes that the YSRCP MPs are indulging in such activities only with the blessings of the Chief Minister, he told media persons at the party headquarters at Tadepalli near here. The list of the costly lands grabbed by the YSRCP leaders including Vijaya Sai, M V V Satyanarayana and brother of a minister Kottu Satyanarayana is very lengthy; he said adding that these lands are worth thousands of crores of rupees.

He said Sai Reddy is involved directly in the Daspalla land issue by removing curbs on development under Rule 22A of Registration Act.

Not only this, the ruling party leaders are even harassing the original land owners and old age homes and temple lands are also not exempted, Bonda Uma said. He asked why Jagan is not opening his mouth despite several such complaints against his party leaders by the original land owners. Why is the Chief Minister hesitating to initiate action against them?

If the Chief Minister is really interested in saving Visakhapatnam from this land mafia and stands by the local people, let him immediately seek a judicial inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the whole episode, he demanded.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has brought the decentralisation issue onto the scene so that he will not fall victim to the large number of land scams by his own party leaders in Visakhapatnam, TDP women's wing president Vangalapudi Anitha said.
